The Sutter Buttes Garden Club is a passionate community of gardeners dedicated to beautifying the Yuba-Sutter area.

Who We Are

Local Scholarships

The Sutter Buttes Garden Club is committed to supporting the educational aspirations of our local youth who are pursuing higher education, especially in fields related to agriculture and horticulture. We believe in investing in the future of our community by fostering academic excellence and providing financial assistance to deserving students.

Our Scholarship Programs

Each year, the Sutter Buttes Garden Club offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and a passion for learning.

General Scholarships

  • We typically award three scholarships worth $1,000 each to students pursuing a wide range of academic disciplines.
  • These scholarships are open to students who meet specific criteria outlined in the application packet (see below for details).

The Kevin DeHoff Scholarship

  • In partnership with The Country Florist, we are proud to offer the Kevin DeHoff Scholarship, specifically for students pursuing agricultural or horticulture-related studies.
  • This scholarship, also valued at $1,000, honors Kevin DeHoff’s contributions to our community and his dedication to fostering the next generation of agricultural leaders.

2024 | 2025

The Sutter Buttes Garden Club awarded three $1,000.00 Scholarships to Amarat Gill, Asher Perla and Brady Amarel This year we also had our first recipient of the Kevin DeHoff The Country Florist Scholarship, Blake Lauppe. He received a $1,000.00 scholarship also.. All four winners attended our yearly General Meeting/Installation potluck luncheon with their family. We all shared the delicious dishes prepared by members and the award winners all shared with our members their plans for the future.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to these exceptional students and wish them the very best in their future endeavors!
